A disturbance ESE of Japan (95W) has intensified into a tropical storm and JMA has named it PHANFONE. At 14 HKT, PHANFONE was centred about 1530 km (830 NM) ESE of Tokyo.

在日本東南偏東面的一個擾動 (95W) 於下午增強為熱帶風暴，並被日本氣象廳命名為巴蓬。在 14 HKT，巴蓬集結在東京東南偏東約 1530 公里 (830 海里)。

It is expected that PHANFONE will travel NE along the NW periphery of an anticyclone SE of the system. It will move fast as it will become embedded with the westerlies soon.
