Disturbance 92W intensified into a tropical depression (06W) earlier today and is now a tropical storm. At 14 HKT, 06W was centred about 110 km (60 NM) ENE of Gaoxiong.
06W is currently situated in the southwestern periphery of the subtropical ridge. It is expected to travel NW in the next 24 hours and will dissipate in southeastern China.
