Information about the eclipse 是次日食資料

A total solar eclipse will occur on December 14 (December 14-15 Hong Kong Time) in the southern hemisphere. The path of totality strikes Earth near 14:30 UTC (22:30 HKT) in the tropical Pacific just south of the equator. It moves southeast across the southeastern Pacific, reaching coastal Chile at around 16:00 UTC (00:00 HKT). The umbral shadow then traverses central Argentina, with maximum eclipse at 16:13 UTC (00:13 HKT). It enters the Atlantic Ocean a few minutes later, and moves east-northeast towards southern Africa. However, the umbral shadow will lift off the Earth's surface at about 17:55 UTC (01:55 HKT), before it reaches land again.

Outside the path of totality, a partial eclipse can be observed in central and southern South America, southeastern Pacific, southern Atlantic and parts of Antarctica.

Note that unlike lunar eclipse, not all places experience these times as the moon moves across the sky (and so does its shadow). They serve to show the times at which there exists at least a location on Earth that can experience those events.
