Standby Signal, No. 1

Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued
by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

At 5 p.m., Tropical Storm Chaba was estimated to be about
450 kilometres northwest of Hong Kong (near 24.7 degrees
north 110.6 degrees east) and is forecast to move north or
north-northeast at about 14 kilometres per hour across
inland Guangxi and weaken gradually.

Strong winds affect offshore and high ground occasionally.
The outer rainbands associated with Chaba will also bring
showers and squalls to Hong Kong occasionally.

When Chaba no longer poses a threat to Hong Kong, the
Observatory will cancel all tropical cyclone warning
signals.

There are swells. Members of the public are advised to stay
away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.

(Precautionary Announcements with No. 1 Signal)

1. Strong winds are still blowing over offshore waters.
Small vessels should remain in shelter and precautions
should not yet be relaxed.

2. Listen to radio, watch TV or browse the Hong Kong
Observatory's website and mobile app for the latest
information on the tropical cyclone.
