NAMTHEUN is currently interacting with LIONROCK, and also possibly KOMPASU. Interaction with KOMPASU will drive NAMTHEUN southwards while that with LIONROCK will drive it in a westerly direction. It is likely that NAMTHEUN will be absorbed by LIONROCK later.
09W is in a complex steering environment with LIONROCK to the southwest and KOMPASU to the east. As 09W is rather close to LIONROCK and is significantly weaker than it, it is expected that 09W will be absorbed into LIONROCK gradually. There is also a possible scenario if KOMPASU moves sufficiently close, and in that case, part of its circulation will be absorbed into KOMPASU. Nevertheless, in this case 09W will still be likely to track southwestward slowly.

Significant intensification is not expected as the two strong systems nearby will block 09W's inflow and outflow channels.
