Tropical disturbance 94W over the southern South China Sea has intensified into tropical depression 26W. At 20 HKT, 26W was centred about 670 km (360 NM) E of Ho Chi Minh City.

A low-level easterly airstream persists in central to southern South China Sea. Under its influence 26W will move in a generally westward direction towards southern tip of Vietnam.
