YAGI is the nineteenth name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Japan, meaning constellation Capricornus. This name was used in 2000 and 2006.
The ridge has re-oriented such that YAGI is now in its northern periphery. The storm is expected to move E to ENE slowly in the next 24 hours.

YAGI has lost almost all of its deep convections in its western semicircle. At seas of just 23 degrees the storm is not expected to survive for long. It will gradually weaken into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

Unless YAGI shows little signs of weakening by tomorrow, this is the final bulletin on the storm.

YAGI is the nineteenth name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Japan, meaning constellation Capricornus. This name was used in 2000 and 2006.
YAGI is moving NNE along the western periphery of the subtropical ridge. The ridge is expected to re-orient and shrink substantially over the next 48 hours, causing YAGI to turn east and stagnate in seas south of Japan.
Current T-number: T3.5/3.5/D0.5/24 HRS
Due to significant wind shear, YAGI's western periphery is still rather poorly developed. Sea temperatures in YAGI's vicinity have dropped to less than 22 degrees, which coupled with high shear as YAGI moves northeast will cause the storm to weaken rapidly and degenerate in the next few days.

YAGI has strengthened into a severe tropical storm in 1-minute average wind standard. At 14 HKT, YAGI was centred about 730 km (390 NM) ESE of Okinawa.
YAGI is the nineteenth name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Japan, meaning constellation Capricornus. This name was used in 2000 and 2006.
YAGI is reaching the western periphery of the subtropical ridge and is forecast to turn north shortly. As it moves towards Japan the ridge is expected to re-orient and diminish in size. This will cause YAGI to decelerate and turn towards the NE again.
Current T-number: T3.0/3.0/D0.5/24 HRS
YAGI's convective banding has tightened, although clouds still appear thin on its western semicircle. Sea temperatures are still favourable and slight intensification is possible in the next 24 hours. However seas are much cooler north of 25°N and the storm is expected to lose strength gradually, and dissipate as it reaches Japan.
現時的 T 號碼: T3.0/3.0/D0.5/24 HRS

Tropical disturbance 98W east of the Philippines intensified into tropical depression 03W last night, and is now a tropical storm. The storm was named YAGI by the JMA. At 14 HKT, YAGI was centred about 770 km (420 NM) SSE of Okinawa.
YAGI is the nineteenth name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Japan, meaning constellation Capricornus. This name was used in 2000 and 2006.
A southwesterly airstream is currently bringing YAGI towards the NE. The storm is reaching the western periphery of a subtropical ridge and is thus expected to turn north. Slight westward track component may be observed due to the shape of the ridge. By t+72, the storm is expected to have moved to the northwestern periphery of the ridge, which will then lead to its turn to the northeast again across Japan.
Current T-number: T2.5/2.5/INT OBS
YAGI's cloud signature is gradually improving as the storm strengthens in an area of high sea temperatures. As shear is pretty strong in that region, only modest intensification is projected. The storm is expected to peak in strength at t+48, after which rapidly declining sea temperatures will start to impact its development. Interaction with Japan landmass will further weaken the storm at later taus.
