Naming 氣旋命名
TAPAH is the 50th name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Malaysia, and is a species of catfish. This name was used in 2002 and 2007.
TAPAH is expected to recurve around the western periphery of the subtropical ridge.
塔巴將沿副熱帶高壓脊西部轉向。

TAPAH's deep convections have been sheared away, leaving a circular low-level circulation centre. A combination of low sea temperatures and high vertical wind shear will result in the storm dissipating by t+24.
TAPAH is the 50th name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Malaysia, and is a species of catfish. This name was used in 2002 and 2007.
TAPAH is expected to move NNW and cross the subtropical ridge axis near t+24, after which the storm should recurve to the NE.
塔巴將向西北偏北移動,於 24 小時後橫過副熱帶高壓脊脊線,隨後轉向東北移動。

TAPAH is now affected by increasing vertical wind shear, and is showing obvious weakening signs with convections being sheared away. The storm is expected to weaken quickly into a tropical depression near t+48, with the possibility of extratropical transition before dissipation.
TAPAH is the 50th name in the tropical cyclone name list. It was contributed by Malaysia, and is a species of catfish. This name was used in 2002 and 2007.
Under the influence of the subtropical ridge to its east, TAPAH will move NNW and recurve along the ridge's western periphery. The storm's track speed at later taus has been increased from last bulletin.
受東面副熱帶高壓脊的影響,塔巴將向西北偏北移動,並沿該脊西部轉向。塔巴後期移速比上一發佈有所增加。

TAPAH intensified in the past 24 hours and a banding eye can be seen on satellite imageries. The storm should be reaching its peak intensity now, as higher shear and much lower sea temperatures later on will cause the system to weaken rapidly.
A tropical depression developed off Guam last night. It quickly intensified into a tropical storm, and was named TAPAH. At 2 pm, TAPAH was centred about 260 km (140 NM) E of Guam.

TAPAH is embedded in a pressure col with high pressure ridges both east and west of the storm. It is expected to accelerate to the NW as the eastern ridge assumes dominance, but the storm will lose speed again as it recurves at higher latitudes.
TAPAH has been increasing quickly during the past 24 hours, attaining a symmetric shape with tight banding features. The storm should be able to intensify in the next 24 to 48 hours in a region of decent outflow and sufficient sea temperature. At higher latitudes, sea temperatures will drop and the storm will encounter higher vertical wind shear which will lead to its weakening.
