JANGMI is currently south of a shallow weakness in the broad subtropical ridge that covers western Pacific and South China Sea. As JANGMI moves west and the western ridge strengthens, the storm will move W to WSW under its influence into South China Sea.
JANGMI's convections continued to tighten in the past 24 hours. Land interaction should cause development to cease in the next 12 to 24 hours, and the storm is expected to re-intensify as it enters open seas again. JANGMI will weaken slowly as it reaches western South China Sea due to lower sea temperatures and unfavourable environment associated with a surge of northeast monsoon.
23W is currently south of a shallow weakness in the broad subtropical ridge that covers western Pacific and South China Sea. It is expected to move WNW in the next 24 hours, followed by a westward turn as the ridge recovers.
23W is picking up convections and will strengthen in warm seas before landfall. Land interaction will limit 23W's development until it exits the country and enters South China Sea.
