The forecast philosophy has changed significantly since the last update, as an increasing number of numerical model outputs are suggesting that the break in the subtropical ridge is temporary and is not sufficient to induce recurvature. The mid-latitude trough is forecast to be weaker than initially expected, and the ridge will be able to intensify rapidly after its passage. DUJUAN is still expected to move NW or NNW briefly (between t+12 and t+48), before resuming a WNW track as the ridge strengthens.
