Warnings:
Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao and
Shanwei.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At noon, Tropical Storm Koinu with maximum sustained winds
of about 85 kilometres per hour near its centre was located
at 17.5 degrees north, 129.1 degrees east. It is forecast to
move northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour across the
seas east of the Philippines and intensify gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 4 to 5, becoming up to force 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas, becoming rough.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East to northeast force 5 to 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East to northeast force 4, occasionally force 5.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Easterly winds of force 5 to 6, becoming northerly winds of
up to force 7 in east later. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms.
